Purpose - To ensure the objectives for the business process area are appropriately defined and aligned to company strategy and the designed solution meets those objectives, is fit for purpose and forms a cohesive solution across process areas, divisions and legacy business systems, so as to support a fully functioning organization

Responsibilities:

Coordinate Financial controls across a multi-national multi-division company through first divisional SAP Implementation
Overall accountability for financial functional design
Ensure objectives, approach and plans for the business process area are in line with Ricardo’s strategic plan
Ensure that the solutions designed within the business process areas will work when combined into an implementation
Ensure senior managers of all specialist functional areas in each division are fully consulted during design and testing of relevant parts of the business processes, data, reports etc.
‘Champion’ activities of the business process area and the overall project
Provide direction and guidance to the business process owner
Approve any revision of current process, ensure standardization across divisions is adopted at all times where practical, (ensure revised process is best practice where possible)
Agree sub processes (scope) of business process area
Agree team members to support the business process owner
Review project plan, milestones, timescales and budget for the business process area
Review communication and stakeholder management plan for business process area
Work with business process owner to ensure integrated approach is in place with other process areas - key interface points defined at the start of the project.
Review alignment of all business process activities with original proposal
Assist business process owner with cost benefit analysis where required and approving budget and benefits to be achieved
Hold regular meetings with the business process owner in order to resolve any issues and help identify areas for further business improvement and opportunity
Ensure business process risks are continuously reviewed and mitigating actions are appropriate
Approve key Blueprinting and Realization deliverables
Provide Impact Analysis Report of changes affecting any division (cost and HR issues) to MDs
Coordinate and facilitate workshops to resolve misalignment of processes, data or other elements of the solution
Keep Group Functional Directors informed of process development, securing ratification or escalation of design decisions relating to business processes, data, reports etc.

Lead Ricardo engagements and secure profitable order book.
Establish yourself as an internal and external leader in issues of firm technical capability with respect to Alternative and Renewable Energy including but not limited to: wind power, solar thermal/electrical, bio/synthetic/waste fuel-to-energy, distributed power generation/CHP (including stationary/portable fuel cells), geothermal, marine/tidal, energy storage, etc.

Identify, integrate and standardize best practices with respect to key technical deliverables such as energy modeling and other technical analyses.

Stimulate internal knowledge and interest in new innovations, technologies and approaches, educating technical and non-technical staff in their uses and applications.
