Production Operators Needed

The Sherwin-Williams, Paint and Coatings Manufacturing facility located in Columbus, Ohio has a need for production operators. Founded in 1866, Sherwin-Williams is one of the world's leading companies engaged in the manufacture, distribution and sale of coatings and related products to professional, industrial, commercial and retail customers. This facility is a 24/5-shift operation and we are currently hiring for second and third shifts.

Position Accountabilities include:

•Completing duties as required
•Maintaining a high level of quality and productivity
•Strong attitude and initiative towards housekeeping and safety
•Ability to work well with other departments

Essential functions vary depending upon the department (pre-batch, mixing, filling).

Basic Requirements:

•High School Education or equivalent (GED)
•One year of experience in doing similar manufacturing work (or detailed work)
•Computer experience or ability to learn
•Ability to count, read and follow oral and written instructions
•Ability to avoid confusion when working with numbers
•Ability to handle multiple batches and/or tasks (must be good at multi-tasking)
•Ability to performance the required physical activities in the work environment safely. Note: All of these positions have physical activities/capabilities requirements based on essential job functions.
•Must be a team player and demonstrate positive attitude
•Must have excellent communication skills

The abdominal muscles for stabilizing the pelvic region and low back during prolonged sitting and standing, bending, reaching, twisting, and for protecting the back (intra-abdominal pressure) during lifting, carrying, driving (absorbing vibration), pushing, and pulling.
The knee extensors (thighs/quadriceps) for lifting, climbing in and out of the truck and up stairs and ramps, and establishing leverage when pushing and pulling merchandise on and off pallets, and pushing or pulling the loaded pallet jack.
The back extensors for lifting the merchandise and pallets, especially when working the last row on the pallet, reaching to grasp and pull merchandise deep on a pallet and pulling the merchandise and pallet jack.

This position is responsible for the timely and safe manufacturing of powder coating products that meet the customers' needs. The incumbent is expected to contribute to solutions of problems relating to products and processes. Primary responsibilities include: weigh up of raw materials following established procedures, able to operate forklift truck and pallet jacks, capable of properly setting-up, adjusting, monitoring, operating, and cleaning all automatic and semi-automatic equipment in an efficient and safe manner, knows and willingly practices all safety rules and procedures including the wearing of appropriate safety apparel, willingly participates in the safety program, keeps tools, equipment, and work areas neat and orderly, follows all standard operating procedures and exercises good judgment and initiative, and is able to accomplish assigned work with little supervision.
