&lt;li&gt;Work Pace: Employee - Fast.&amp;nbsp; Employee has total control over pace.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Physical Fitness Requirements: The Driver job consists of both static (sitting) and dynamic (unloading) muscle contractions.&amp;nbsp; There is approximately a 60:40 unloading to sitting ratio.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt;Driving involves:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&amp;nbsp;Continuous sitting in the tractors.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Unloading involves:&amp;nbsp; The CTS Driver unloads approximately 38,000 &amp;ndash; 42,000 pounds per load, 70 hours per 8 days.&amp;nbsp; Average merchandise weighs approximately 50 pounds; 400-pound drums are also unloaded.&amp;nbsp; The merchandise is manually transferred from the trailer to the pallets, then to the end of the trailer with a pallet jack.&amp;nbsp; Loading docks are preferred, however; in most instances, the Sherwin-Williams stores do NOT have docks.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Muscular strength and endurance is required of the following muscle groups:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The anti-gravity muscles (neck extensors, upper, middle, and lower back muscles, hip extensors and knee flexors, etc.) for prolonged standing when unloading, sitting, and driving.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The abdominal muscles for stabilizing the pelvic region and low back during prolonged sitting and standing, bending, reaching, twisting, and for protecting the back (intra-abdominal pressure) during lifting, carrying, driving (absorbing vibration), pushing, and pulling.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The knee extensors (thighs/quadriceps) for lifting, climbing in and out of the truck and up stairs and ramps, and establishing leverage when pushing and pulling merchandise on and off pallets, and pushing or pulling the loaded pallet jack.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The back extensors for lifting the merchandise and pallets, especially when working the last row on the pallet, reaching to grasp and pull merchandise deep on a pallet and pulling the merchandise and pallet jack.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The chest and upper extremities (shoulders, upper arms, forearms, wrist hands, fingers) for gripping, pushing, pulling, carrying and lifting the merchandise, operating the pallet jack and dock ramp leveler, opening and closing the dock door, cutting shrink wrap, as well as driving the truck and working the trailer.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Flexibility is required at:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&amp;nbsp;Low Back &amp;ndash; repetitive bending (forward flexion) and lifting combined with twisting and reaching in an unsupported position (especially at less than optimal delivery sites &amp;ndash; no docks, narrow doors, stairs, surface inclines) places undue stress on the low back muscles and increases the potential for injury.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Safety Cautions: unloading, maneuvering, and lifting the pallet jacks (150 pounds of awkward, but necessary equipment) has resulted in numerous injuries among drivers.&lt;/li&gt;
